Spree 5.1 is now available, bringing robust Rails 8 support to the community! This latest release not only advances compatibility but also introduces a variety of powerful features and integrations designed to enhance your Spree experience.
New Features
1. Admin Staff Management and Invitations UI
Effortlessly manage your admin team by inviting new staff directly from the admin dashboard, streamlining team onboarding and permissions.
2. Enhanced Checkout Experience
Customize your checkout by toggling the company field and enabling or disabling the special instructions field, giving customers a smoother checkout experience.
3. Native Gift Cards Coming Soon!
We’re putting the finishing touches on native Gift Cards support, which will debut in the final 5.1 release.
Spree Starter Template Upgrade
The Spree Starter Template has been upgraded to align with version 5.1 and now fully supports Rails 8, ensuring an up-to-date and seamless project initiation.

Google Analytics 4 integration now available
Google Analytics 4 integration is now available, allowing seamless data analytics directly within your Spree application.
This Google Analytics 4 integration for Spree Commerce allows you to track user behavior, sales performance, and marketing effectiveness across your store.
With minimal setup required, you can gain valuable insights into how visitors interact with your site, which can help you make informed decisions to improve conversions, user experience, and overall business strategy.
Klaviyo integration now available
Connect your Spree store effortlessly to Klaviyo to enhance your marketing capabilities:
- Out-of-the-box newsletter subscription integration
- Sophisticated marketing flows to track and engage your customers dynamically
Once the Spree and Klaviyo integration is set up, Spree automatically tracks the following customer events happening on your store website and sends them to Klaviyo, so you could set up your desired email campaigns triggered by these events:
